GLITCH was founded in May 2010 by two undergraduates who believed that video games matter and sought to build a community of like-minded people. Since 2013, GLITCH has expanded to become a full-fledged nonprofit alongside its student group counterpart with upcoming projects fiscally sponsored by Games for Change; an international non-profit organization that supports games as a critical tool for social impact.
 
Community is the foundation of our organization and it’s for them that we continue to improve our programming and create opportunities.

Position Information

Term: September 2015 – May 2016
Work Hours: 4-6 hour commitment per week
 

Compensation

Point Collection System – Earn free games, equipment, and event tickets for hours contributed
 

YOU ARE:

  1. Passionate about GLITCH’s goals, programming, and community
  2. A killer communicator who can easily connect with others and your knowledge about video game culture makes you approachable and relatable
  3. Organized and attentive: whether it’s a local developer registering for a day pass or the printer paper running low, your diligence and attention to detail means you’ve got it in the bag
  4. A huge stickler about being on time and always arrive a few minutes early, you know… just in case

 
YOU WILL:

  1. Staff the GlitchHQ front desk each week
  2. Ensure that GLITCH equipment and property is not damaged or stolen
  3. Greet guests, direct inquiries, and assist community members with checking out equipment and purchasing day passes
  4. Ensure that GlitchHQ is kept clean and organized
  5. Support our team with community expertise to help identify and drive improvements
  6. Assist in the production and staffing of live events such as Welcome Geek and GlitchCon
